The Centre has become active in the last year, working to strengthen national debate, improve governance and encourage Nigerians to take an active role in the country\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n<p>The Centre treats political leadership as a collaborative exercise and aims to promote governance structures which incorporate multiple levels of engagement, including individuals, households, small businesses, the private sector, NGOs and government.<\/p>\n<p>Inter-faith dialogue is at the core of the Centre\u2019s work and involves actively promoting conversations among Nigeria\u2019s faith communities, as well as between leaders in faith and public policy.<\/p>\n<p>The Kukah Centre aspires to become Nigeria\u2019s leading institution for the promotion of an active and engaged citizenry by providing support for inclusive dialogue and advocacy initiatives.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"objectives\"><\/a>STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>To design programs that encourage debates and free exchange of ideas.<\/li>\n<li>To serve as a mediating platform between the government, citizens and communities.<\/li>\n<li>To engage like-minded partners to promote inclusive governance processes that foster the common good of all citizens.<\/li>\n<li>To foster a productive partnership between faith leaders, the academia and public officials.<\/li>\n<li>To enhance the quality of leadership training at all levels both in the public and non-governmental sectors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a id=\"dialogue\"><\/a>PROGRAM AREAS<\/h3>\n<h6>INTER-FAITH DIALOGUE<\/h6>\n<p>Inter-faith dialogue is at the core of the Centre\u2019s work and involves actively promoting conversation among Nigeria\u2019s faith communities as well as between leaders in faith and public policy. This is predicated on the understanding that for it to be meaningful, good governance requires a fully functioning and participatory democracy.<\/p>\n<h6>LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT<\/h6>\n<p>We believe that to secure our future, we need to raise and train leaders for the next generation imbued with a sense of service based on shared values.<\/p>\n<h6>MEMORY PRESERVATION AND KNOWLEDGE PROMOTION<\/h6>\n<p>The Centre\u2019s memory preservation and knowledge promotion activities will raise awareness on critical issues of both historical and contemporary national importance, with a view to promoting active citizen engagement. Knowledge promotion underlines the importance of political participation that is driven by ethnic or religious considerations.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"platforms\"><\/a>PLATFORMS AND CORE
